Some things never change

“Mom... Mom?.. I'm goin' out.”

“Where to?”

“With my friends, y'know?“

“Well, be careful, watch for the traffic an' stuff.”

“Mom, I'm almost seven billion years old, I can look after myself.”

“Okay son, but if you have to cross the universe make sure you look both ways before you set off.”

“I will mom.”

“And son...?”

“Yeah mom?”

“Are you wearin' clean underwear?”

  1. Even alien mums are worried about their kids crossing the road and whether they've got clean underwear on! :)

    1. I can remember having this same conversation when I was a kid, I think at seven years old I couldn't make the connection between clean underwear and getting hit by a bus that my mum could. LOL!!

    1. Hi Richard, and thank you.

Yeah, this was just a bit of silliness on my part, but the concept amused me, I just transferred the idea to beings that lived much longer than us, of course as usual I had to go to the extreme. :-)

  8. Love it! I thought it was a solar system talking to its parent galaxy. Like they do.

    1. Thanks Catherine, you may be right about that, I didn't have any sort of mental image about this, it was just the thought that amused me. :-)

    1. Haha, Moms are brilliant aren't they? When we are young we don't always understand the logic of some of the things they say, come to think of it, I'm not sure I understand it even now. :-)
